Fires and Burns

In the United States, a home fire claims a life every three hours. Fires and burns were the fifth leading cause of unintentional injury deaths in the United States in 2005 according to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). Loss of life, loss of property, severe and painful injuries, scarring and emotional trauma are just some of the ways a fire can inflict pain on its victims.

When You've Suffered From Burns
Burns can be caused by a number of things including heat, hot liquids, steam, fire, radiation, sunlight, chemicals or electricity. Burn injuries can be among the hardest to treat, extremely painful and can leave lasting emotional and physical scars. Severe burns can also have life threatening complications due to fluid loss, scarring and tissue damage. Recovery time is extensive, multiple surgeries may be required for skin grafting and treatment is costly and painful.

Fire can destroy a home in a matter of minutes. Children younger than five and adults older than 65 are most likely to die in a fire and are the most vulnerable. There are steps you can take to reduce the risk of a home fire. Read about fire prevention at: www.firesafety.gov.

What Former Clients Say

"One of the first things I asked when I finally woke up was, 'Was it my fault?' This terrible thing happened and Fred proved I wasn't at fault. I can't tell you what a relief that was to know that and to have someone taking care of the stuff like the billing and the insurance companies and the hospital when this happened. Fred really went the extra mile to prove our case."
